The main goal of the Educational Management programme is
to produce skilled teachers, educators and academics who have a true
understanding of the notion of the educational management and the importance of
the management in education. Moreover, we would also like to raise an awareness
in the area of educational management in order to increase the quality of
management in schools in accordance with the requirements of our society in
today’s Turkey.
We, therefore, offer programmes in both Bachelor’s Degree
level and postgraduate level (Masters) to students.
Bachelor’s
Degree
In our Bachelor’s Degree programmes, we intend to increase
teachers’ management skills and capabilities and thus produce professional
teachers having good educational management skills. For this purpose, we offer
course units such as “Turkish educational system”, “Turkish Education and
School Management”, “Classroom Management”, “Introduction to Educational
Sciences”, “History of Turkish Education” as well as other course units within
educational sciences.
Master’s Degree
In our postgraduate programmes, we aim to increase
teachers’, civil servants’, directors’/managers’ (school principals, managers
in other institutions etc.) knowledge and skills in the area of educational
management, thus increasing the quality of management in institutions. To that
end, we offer Master of Arts (evening education only) programme and Master of
Arts Diploma programme without a dissertation (evening education only).
-Master of Arts
(Evening Education)
The selection criteria of the candidates for the
programme are as follows:

60% of their
ALES (Academic Postgraduate Education Exam) result
-
40% of their
graduation average
The average calculated is taken as a basis then, and
candidates are accepted on space-available basis.
Applications are made online after the announcement
regarding our Masters programmes is made in our Siirt University School of
Education website.
In Master of Arts programmes, students should take
courses whose credits are equivalent to 120 AKTS (European Credit Transfer
System). Furthermore, students should also write a dissertation. Pass mark is
70 out of 100.
In Master of Arts programmes, we comply with the Higher
Education Council’s attendance regulation. In this regard, in theoric course
units, a minimum of 70% attendance is required, and in applied course units, a
minimum of 80% attendance is required.
-Postgraduate Diploma Programme (Evening Education)
The selection criteria of the candidates for the
programme are as follows:

70% of their
graduation average
ALES (Academic Postgraduate Education Exam) result is not
required for this specific programme; however, if candidates have ALES results,
they are also taken into consideration, and 30% of their ALES results is
evaluated along with the above criterion. The average calculated is taken as a
basis then, and candidates are accepted on space-available basis.
In Postgraduate Diploma programme, students should
take courses whose credits are equivalent to 60 AKTS (European Credit Transfer
System). Furthermore, students should also prepare a project. Pass mark is 70
out of 100.
